Great success!
Graham Cano’s 24-yard field goal gave the New York Giants a 23-21 preseason victory against the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

Touchdown! The Giants lead 17-14 in the third quarter.
Half Time: The Giants went into the half with a 10-7 lead. In relief of Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor was 13 of 21 for 129 yards and a 7-yard touchdown pass to Richie James.
First quarter: Giants Trail, 7-3. Daniel Jones is 6 of 10 for 69 yards. Saquon Barkley has four carries for 13 yards and one reception for six yards.
Shane Lemieux (TOE) will not return. In the broadcast, it was said that the Giants hoped to allow Lemieux to play some center later.
Shane Lemieux doesn’t seem to have a terrible injury. But you don’t want any injuries in a game like this.

The New York Giants open their preseason Thursday night (7pm ET/NFL Network and NBC-4), marking Brian Daboll’s sideline debut as the team’s head coach.
Use this post as your discussion thread and keep up with live updates throughout the game.
Seeing old friends
Daboll’s debut comes against Bill Belichick, a mentor and former boss and friend, and Giants head coach Joe Judge, whom Daboll replaced. He is not emotional.
“I haven’t thought about it yet. I’m very focused on getting things right every day. Obviously he is [Belichick is] A mentor of mine, but I don’t sit there and say, ‘Oh, it’s the first game,'” Dabol said. “I know my wife and kids will try to avoid it. But what did he coach for 750 games? This is my first season match. I try to do right by my team. Didn’t really care about me. “
The fact that Judge is on the other side as New England’s quarterbacks coach and offensive assistant might be a little awkward for some of the guys on the roster who have played for him over the past two years. Again, this isn’t something Dabol is worried about.
“I’m not even talking about it. You’ve been in this league long enough that I’ve coached against friends, players, coaches. It’s like you get used to it, you know?” Dabol said. “I know 10 of these staff members because I’ve been in the league so long, I’ve worked with four of them, or I’ve been in this place last year, and I’m going to this place. It’s just the nature of the NFL.
Starters vs. Backups
Dabol has said all healthy Giants starters will play.
“I think it’s important to play football: live reps. You can’t tell right now how many reps it’s going to be,” Dabol said. I expect all our guys to play on Thursday.
Not so for the Patriots, who aren’t expecting starters.
QB Mack Jones and most of the Patriots starters are not expected to play in tonight’s preseason opener, sources told me and @DanGrazianoESPN.
Combine practices against the Panthers next week, then the Raiders the following week.
