Shakira and her longtime boyfriend Gerard Pique have announced their separation.
“We are sorry to confirm that we are splitting up,” the couple shared in a joint statement Saturday. “We ask for privacy at this time for the well-being of our children which is our highest priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”
The couple first confirmed their relationship in March 2011 and welcomed two sons: Milan, 9 and Sasha, 7. They first met in Settles. Shakira’s music video “Waka Waka (this time for Africa).”
